Caramel or Dulce de Leche |
What you need:
- 1 can (405g) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 large pot with lid
- Water
- Place the whole can of condensed milk in a pot.
- Pour water to cover the whole can. The can should be completely submerged.
- Bring to boil, cover with lid, lower heat and let it simmer for about 3 hrs.
- Remove from water and let it cool completely before opening the can. If you can't wait like me, cool it under a running tap.
My family was not that impressed. We thought it would be good over ice cream, or for dipping apples/wafers. I think we thought we would open it and it would be a familiar caramel we are used to. |
Saltine Cracker Toffee
Sara made these
English Toffee http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/english-toffee-recipe/index.html |
Sausage Balls |
Chex Mix | Mary made this. The recipe is on the back of the cereal box. Homemade is so much better than store bought. |
Divinity | This is a candy our mother made for us at Christmas time. It is tricky to make, you will need a candy thermometer. |
You need to put the recipes up. Maybe I can make that toffee with the gluten free cardboard, um, I mean crackers. And what about the sausage balls? I get asked for this recipe all the time so your friends might want it.
